Embrace the hurt — feel it — then let it go. Forgiveness doesn't happen in clock-time ... Overtime I found that I needed to forgive in order to give me inner peace and move on with my life. Y

Such an important lesson. I feel like people say 'forgive and let go' as a well-meaning, short lived platitude. But we must learn from the hurt and move on without attachment. A great piece of advice. Thanks for sharing.

I think we’d be better off leaving forgiveness behind. Don’t allow anger to turn into hatred, vengeance, or grudge. Anger shouldn’t be demonized, but also, don’t nurture it or let it fester. Things that happened in the past, happened in the past. Focus on healing from emotional wounds rather than “forgiving.” Adding “forgiveness” into the mix makes it harder to heal, not easier.
