Forgiveness: what it is really
Forgiveness
Hi I hope your time has been good. Mine has been turbulent, but also full of beauty and optimism.
Today I wanted to drop a little note on forgiveness, as it’s often touted as important, but what it entails isn’t always so clear.
Forgiveness is something that always comes up, whether it’s forgiving someone else, or oneself.
When it comes down to it, forgiveness is just acceptance. It’s full, unconditional acceptance.
When we are having trouble forgiving, we’re having trouble accepting. We are basically resisting reality, and reality doesn’t change on account of us not liking it (unfortunately).
What often is being resisted isn’t the fact that something happened – though that is very often the case. But sometimes we are having trouble accepting and feeling the emotions that were the result of what happened.
So when we’re having difficulty forgiving ourselves or others, we need to acknowledge what really happened, and invite the feelings that arise as a result of that acceptance.
I have found that if we are having trouble feeling compassionate, there is often something that needs to be forgiven, and felt.
Now as a result of this recent contemplation, I added another guided meditation for forgiveness to my meditation for ADHD course.
I’ve also been thinking and I’m going to add a whole new module, one where we cultivate our best self. Most of the practices in the course are about easing our relentless restlessness, but I wanted to offer something more visionary, more optimistic, and actually more tantric.
And when I do add that module, I'm going to raise the price too. But don't worry, whatever price you buy at gets you lifetime access to all materials, and all newly added materials.
I also wanted to share the latest feedback I got on the course:
I was gifted your adhd course and I watched the entire thing in one sitting. I had somewhat of an emotional release during the segment about “what age did you stop feeling like you’re worth it?”
You understand this stuff very deeply and I can’t wait to apply all this stuff to my life this week. Just letting you know that I really appreciate the work you do and that I hope you continue making courses.
And if you want to do the course but can't afford it, shoot me a message and we will work something out ;)
YouTube Update
I got a bunch more content in the pipeline for my channel, and I’m mixing it up. Some of the classic guided practices, some thoughtful stuff on our collective struggles, and toying with the idea of doing more reviews too, as I find them pretty fun.
I’ve been releasing two videos a week, with the latest one being on the spiritual teacher that changed my life.
This was the guy that started me on my path, and what I learned from him formed the foundation of my thinking and set me up to explore spiritual traditions while mostly avoiding the common traps and pitfalls.
OK that's it for today!
